Hikes, Street & Sea: Three Guides to the Australian Coast

Simon, Min, Baker - The SurfStitch Crew

Trails, gigs and surf breaks along the Australian coast. New guides from the SurfStitch crew, updated daily.

The Australian coast isn't one thing. It's catching a break before work and a hitting a track on Saturday. It's a pub band three beaches over, a swim at the end of a hot day. Living it is a matter of knowing where to go, when, and what to take with you.

That's what we write about. We back independent brands because they're built to last the trip, but the writing comes first. If there's a break, a track or a band out there we've got nothing to sell you on, we'll still tell you where to find it.

From today, that writing lives in three guides: Hikes, Gigs and Surf. Here's what's in each.

Hiking Guide: Coastal Walks and Weekend Trails

Hikers on a coastal trail at sunrise

Weekend missions, trail gear and walks that take you from the coast to the ranges. Straight-talking recommendations on equipment, and the hikes worth taking it on, the kind you leave for on Friday after work and come back from a slightly different human.

Written by Simon, who walks every track before it goes in the guide.

Gig Guide: Festivals, Live Music and Coastal Pubs

Crowd at an outdoor festival stage

Festivals, gigs and live pub music up and down the coast, plus the kit that survives, and the vinyl and turntables to play it back on at home.

Written by Min, who writes our gig guides and works the door. Got a band and a gig? Let Min know and she'll include it.

Built in the open

We're a small crew, and the guides grow every week, new tracks, new spots, new gigs, new brands as we curate and onboard them. If you find something that's wrong or out of date, tell us. We'd rather hear it from you than leave it sitting there.

See all three guides, and tag us in whichever of Hikes, Gigs or Surf you're actually into.
